Domain Name Disputes Resolution Administrative Proceeding (MAP)
If you believe that you are entitled to a Domain Name that
has already been registered in ccTLD .it, or if you believe that someone
is wrongfully using such a Domain Name, you can compel that
person/business to participate in a Domain Name Administrative Proceeding.
An Administrative Proceeding is a process in which two parties present
their respective views of a conflict about a domain name to a neutral and
impartial third party, the panel. The panel will hear the parties' claims
in conformity with Italian Registry (Registro .it) rules. After both
parties have had a fair chance to make their case, the panel, after
deliberation, will issue a decision that is binding on the parties.
The Administrative Proceeding process is generally faster and cheaper than
using the courts. Panelists are intellectual property and trademark
experts.
The rules governing the Administrative Proceeding are similar to the ones
set by ICANN for gTLD .com, .org and .net.
